Welcome to the Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown Trophy Guide! Solar Crown is the 13 years later sequel to Test Drive Unlimited 2, developed by KT Racing (WRC series) and published by Nacon. Solar Crown takes place in a near 1:1 recreation of Hong Kong Island allowing for open-world racing and exploration. The game includes a number of MMO-esque social features such as avatar creation and social spaces you can walk around in and interact with other players. Most races will matchmake in other players if possible, but empty spaces are filled with AI when needed.
Trophy wise the game is somewhat similar to other modern open-world racing games. You increase your overall Reputation level to unlock new features and vehicle types to buy. There isn’t a very involved story, but the main goal is to reach the maximum Reputation level and participate in the Crown Jewel races, along with leveling Reputation in your chosen Clan and beating each of the 5 Clan Challengers, which are 1 on 1 races with AI you must complete at certain Clan rep levels. There are a handful of trophies that specifically require racing against other players, but most can be completed against AI racers, and only a few require even winning races.
Your first step after completing the tutorial will be to reach Reputation level 20,at which point most features become unlocked. You’ll unlock Clan features and Ranked races, along with a couple of vehicle upgrade levelsthat make the game much more enjoyable. If you want to push toward level 20 quickly you can work on road discovery percentage and Radiant Prizes, but it would be recommended you at least reach level 12 first and join a Clan, as some Radiant Prizes give clan rep and these won’t appear until you join one of the Clans. Focusing on secondary objectives (viewed by pressing on the map) is a good way to level reputation quickly.
Always watch for which types of daily Events are available, as Hot-Heads and High Stakes races only appear on specific days, and you need to complete a total of 10 of them, along with one of each during a season. If you miss them during the day they are available you need to wait until they are available in the calendar again.
The last major Reputation Milestone is at level 55, where the Crown Jewel races become available. Along the way you’ll unlock all other vehicle categories and upgrade levels, so make sure you are fully upgrading at least one car in each category as you go so you can participate in almost all races (some races require specific vehicles but you can ignore these if you want to save money). If you hadn’t been working on road discovery and Radiant Prizes in the prior step, now would be a good time to do it as levels start taking much more Reputation to increase, and vehicles that you’ll want to buy start becoming much more expensive. Keep focusing on secondary tasks as well as they give increasingly more SC and rep rewards based on the level they unlock.
Make sure to always accept Instant Challenges from other players if they offer them. Clan Rep is slow to increase while just doing races, and you get more rep from Instant Challenges (at least 5000 XP against another player, win or lose) and even if you are losing with the lowest bet level the XP is more valuable than the 1000 SC you’ll lose from the lowest bet level.
Once you’ve reached Reputation level 55 you’ll have access to the Crown Jewel races, which are the final Reputation-related unlock in the game. Once you’ve completed these you will likely only have a handful of other things such as open-world cleanup, purchasing cars and clothing, or online interaction left to do. It is recommended you don’t worry about the 150 clothing items or the 50 cars until this point and you have purchased everything else you want, as there are some tasks unlocked with the Crown Jewel races that each award 1 million SC if you complete them, helping you most of the way to the clothing and car purchase cost.

Earn every trophy

Finish creating your avatar

This trophy is earned right when you start the game, once you confirm your avatar creation choices.

Level up Reputation for the first time

This trophy is awarded once you level up Reputation for the first time, which will happen at the start of the game while participating in the selection races.

Reach Reputation level 20

Reach Reputation level 50

While doing races you get mostly the same amount per race, a maximum of 2500 XP, decreasing slightly based on your position in the race. While trying to reach level 50 and by extension 55 you should also focus on Road Completion percentage and Secondary Tasks for bigger XP gains. Road Completion percentage gives 500 more XP every 5%, so the more roads you clear the higher the reward is. Secondary Tasks are unlocked every 5 Reputation levels and are typically related to the new races or vehicle types you unlock, with the rewards also increasing the higher level they are unlocked from. They give decent money boosts, but a significant amount of XP for single-race actions so are very good to go out of your way for, even if they require buying a specific car.
You aren’t required to reach level 60 (the launch max level) for any trophies, but if you do you get a free Hypercar and unlock an extra 20~ races to play if you so wish, though at that point they would only be for SC gain or Solar Pass levels, as only one of them is a Clan Race.

Reach FRIM level 5

Reach FRIM level 10

To reach FRIM level 10 it is recommended you have a highly upgraded Supercar, either with all Legendary or Epic upgrades. This is because for the easiest scoring and keeping your combo most of your points will come from driving very fast on the highway. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ (2018) is a good base game option, but there are many other choices and there are many other ones you can go with, but you want one that has very good handling and nearly maxed Acceleration.
The main mechanic that will allow you to increase your score and therefore FRIM level is performing different actions within the same combo. Each unique action (see the list below) will add 0.1 to the multiplier, and then some of the “higher-level” versions of those same actions such as Overtaking Pro for getting several Overtakes in a short time will add much larger chunks to the multiplier.
To start, you will want to set yourself up somewhere along the highways around the map, within a more open area so that you can start out doing some of the slower actions such as Donuts, Burns, and 0-100s. While trying to do these you are more likely to drop your combo, so if you do a number of them at the start you can get an initial multiplier boost before the actions for driving around. Once you have done these and they are no longer providing score, start driving down the highway. Your main goal for the rest of the combo will be to continually drive as fast as you safely can, performing Overtakes and Dodges, driving on the wrong side of the road when possible, and keeping your speed up while attempting to drift around corners safely. You can try for Brushes against cars if you are confident, but any hard bump will instantly end the combo, so you are generally better off avoiding them. If you need to stop, trying to spin by braking with and performing a 180 can provide a larger boost, but is also risky. If you end up losing your combo so your FRIM level starts going back down you are generally better off starting over, as this instantly drops your multiplier back to 1x but doesn’t reset what bonuses you can get from already performed actions.
Once you reach FRIM level 10 for the first time you will be awarded this trophy immediately, regardless of whether you cash in the progress or drop the combo.

Pull off all FRIM actions once

There isn’t a way to track which actions you have completed, but most can be completed quickly when you know what they are. The only ones that you might not pull off without trying require other player vehicles to count, instead of being doable around AI pedestrian vehicles.
The list of actions are as follows:
- High speed: Reach 80% of your max speed – This means driving at 80% or above of your current vehicle’s stated max speed from the vehicle stats.
- Top speed: Reach 98% of your max speed – This means driving at 98% or above of your current vehicle’s stated max speed from the vehicle stats. This will require a long stretch of straight road to be able to reach, such as the straight tunnel in the middle of the map.
- 0 to 100: Accelerate quickly – From a stop, quickly accelerate to over 100 km/h.
- Slipstream: Drive behind another vehicle – This requires driving behind another player’s vehicle, it doesn’t count with AI pedestrian vehicles.
- Jump: Perform a jump – This counts effectively any air you can get with your vehicle, it doesn’t need to be off specific jump locations.
- Obstacle jump: Perform a jump over a car – This requires jumping over another vehicle, either NPC traffic or another player. If you don’t get this naturally you can do this with another player by finding a ramp in an area such as the construction site on the north side of Central District, and placing the player you are jumping over in front of the end of the ramp.
- Drift: Perform a drift – The drift can be any length, but when trying to score highly you can continually do new individual drifts, it doesn’t count only one long drift.
- Clean driving: Driving cleanly at high speed – Occurs when you are driving fast without touching any other vehicles or obstacles.
- 360°: Perform a 360° spin – To perform a 360 spin you need to start driving at high speed, then pull the handrake with
and turn to the side. This should spin your vehicle in a circle, and if you have enough momentum you will spin all the way around in a circle. You will likely need a fast vehicle to do this with.
- 180°: Perform a 180° spin – You will get this while doing the 360 spin, as it counts the 180 spin twice in the scoring.
- Burn: Perform a burn – Hold both brake and accelerate to rev your engine, then let go of the brake to start driving while spinning your tires.
- Donut: Perform a donut – A donut is a drift, but in a very tight circle over and over. A very fast car with slick or semi-slick tires will allow you to do this, as you will be able to spin your tires constantly while driving in a circle.
- Overtake: Overtake another vehicle – Driving past a vehicle driving in the same direction as you on the road, counts against players or AI pedestrian vehicles.
- Dodge: Dodge another vehicle – Avoid vehicles driving toward you on the road, counts against players or AI pedestrian vehicles while you are driving in the wrong lane.
- Brush: Brush another vehicle – Lightly brush against another vehicle while you are driving. This needs to be very light, if you hit another vehicle hard it will end your FRIM combo.
- Wrong way: Drive on the opposite side of the road – Drive on the wrong side of the road, which is the right side on Hong Kong Island.
- In-between: Squeeze between two cars – Drive between two cars. Most easily done by driving in the middle of two lanes and going between AI pedestrian vehicles.

Take a test drive

Complete the race against Vivian

This trophy is earned once you complete the initial tutorial race against Vivian, which occurs immediately after creating your avatar.

Complete 100 races

Win a race with Expert-level driving assists

Collect 100 Radiant Prizes

They also appear on the minimap as a white diamond icon when you are near them, which then marks their location on the overall map with the same icon which allows you to easily find ones you may have driven by but not picked up. You will get many of them marked this way while working on road discovery percentage.
There are a total of 380 spread throughout the 14 districts, so you only need to collect a little over a quarter of them. You can view how many you have collected out of the total in each district on the main map screen.

Join a clan

This trophy is awarded for joining a clan for the first time. When you reach Reputation level 12 you’ll be given info about the clans, and be prompted to visit both Clan HQs and speak to the recruiters. When you decide what Clan you want to join, speak to the Recruiter again to challenge them to a race, and after you win you’ll be able to join the Clan.

Reach Influence level 10

Clan Races award a maximum of 4500 XP Clan Influence if you finish in first, with lower amounts for lower place finishes. Instant Challenges against other players from the opposite Clan award 7500 XP regardless of whether you win or lose, so these are the significantly faster way to increase your Clan Influence level.
If you are boosting Instant Challenges with other players you can only earn SC/XP three times in 24 hours from the same player, after this the game stops you earning more until the next day.
If you are repeating Clan Races for XP note that after around 5 repeats in a 24-hour period the races will start to award less Reputation XP and SC, but Clan XP rewards will always stay the same. If you haven’t reached Reputation 55 to unlock the Crown Jewel races you should switch to different races when this occurs to continue leveling, but after reaching level 55 if you no longer want the Reputation XP and SC reward you can continually repeat the same race as much as you want. Pick the shortest race you know you can comfortably win almost all the time (Cross-Country races work well as the AI messes up much more frequently) and play it over and over as much as you like for Clan XP.

Reach Influence level 30

Defeat 10 players from the rival clan in Instant Challenge

You can boost this trophy with another player by joining the same group. The game will stop allowing you to earn rewards from the same player after challenging them 3 times within a 24 hour period, but the trophy will still be awarded once you have 10 Instant Challenge wins.
Even though the trophy description implies you need to do this against players from the opposite clan, the trophy still counts if you challenge players in the same clan as yourself.

Drive 50 km (31 miles) in a 2CV

The 2CV is not overly fast, so unless you are specifically aiming to upgrade and use it in Daily Driver class races you may want to just purchase it and then drive around clearing road percentage. You can see your current distance driven in the car on the HUD underneath the speedometer. Once you hit 50 km/31 m on the odometer you will earn this trophy.

Pull off a jump of over 100 m (109 yd) long

Drive back up the road to the north, then travel south and hit the ramp. If you are going fast enough this should send you well over 100 meters.

Pull off a drift of over 100 m (109 yd)

Reach 400 km/h (248 mph) for the first time

Discover 50% of all the roads

There isn’t a way to track your total road discovery amount in the stats menu, but you will receive reputation bonuses for every percentage of road discovered. Roads do not get discovered while you drive in races, so you will need to drive around in free roam to reach the 50% road discovery threshold.

Achieve a rank in the Solar Crown

To receive your initial rank you need to complete a total of 5 Ranked Races, regardless of position. Once you do this the game will calculate your initial rank and award you this\\e trophy.

Rack up 50 speed trap stars

Rack up 200 speed trap stars

Most speed traps you won’t be able to earn all stars at right away, you will need to obtain a car from the Supercar category or above for most road speed trap 3 stars, and for Offroad ones, you will want an offroad vehicle upgraded to at least the third level overall. Once you have these you can clean up most of the stairs fairly easily, just travel to their location and drive toward them from a farther point down the road.

Reach 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5s

Install a Legendary part for the first time

This trophy is awarded for installing a Legendary part on a vehicle for the first time. You will automatically to do this once you reach reputation level 5 and unlock workshops, as you are prompted to install a turbo which are all of Legendary level.

Install all Legendary parts in a car

Create a custom livery

Repair a car at a Gas Station

Change outfit for the first time

Note that you can change your outfit as soon as you have access to your room, but this trophy won’t be awarded until you reach Reputation level 5 and have workshop/clothing store access.

Change your appearance at the Beauty Salon

Wear an outfit made up entirely of Epic or Legendary clothes

Complete 10 Circuit races

For this and the other “complete races” trophies they do not need to be unique races, you could do the same race of a type 10 times in a row if you wanted to earn the trophies.

Find all Dealerships, Gas Stations, Workshops, clan HQs and Meeting Points

Complete 10 Sprint races

Complete 10 Domination races

Complete 10 Time Attack races

Complete 10 Hot-Heads or High Stakes races

Finish in 1st place three times in a row in a Circuit race

The race for joining the Sharps Clan is a circuit race that you can replay if you don’t leave the race lobby after winning, so you could replay this race three times. You can switch Clans to play the other Clan’s entry race, but do this either before joining Clans at the start of the game or once you have beaten all Clan challengers and unlocked those trophies.

Finish in 1st place three times in a row in a Sprint race

The race for joining the Street Clan is a sprint race that you can replay if you don’t leave the race lobby after winning, so you could replay this race three times. You can switch Clans to play the other Clan’s entry race, but do this either before joining Clans at the start of the game or once you have beaten all Clan challengers and unlocked those trophies.

Earn the maximum points possible in a Domination race

This trophy will partially be luck-based, either when racing against other players or against AI. You will need to pull ahead immediately so you can reach the first checkpoint first, then stay ahead. This can be easier on some Domination races where the initial checkpoint isn’t right away or is around a corner, as especially with AI they will slow down for corners and you can run into them, allowing you to bounce off them to hit the checkpoint first.
It may be possible to boost this with another player in a Ranked Race. Ranked Races are only against other players, so if you manage to match up with a partner in a Ranked Domination race it would only be the two racers, allowing coordination of one player always passing the checkpoints first.

Complete 10 clan races

Complete a Hot-Heads and a High Stakes in the same season

The in-game calendar currently only shows the current and next-day event, so you will need to pay attention to see which Events is currently active and which is upcoming so that you don’t miss them.
Playing each event during a season is enough to earn this trophy, you do not need to earn a specific place in the event for it to count. Once you complete the second of the events within the same season for the first time you will earn this trophy.

Complete 40 different races

Complete 80 different races

As you increase your rep level in-game, you will unlock more races every 5 levels along with other features. New races that you have not participated in will be marked on the map with a yellow dot. After you have completed them once, the yellow dot will not appear and they will show your best position if you view them on the map. There is not currently a way to track how many unique races you have completed, so you will just need to keep playing new races as they appear until you earn this trophy.

Join a group for the first time

Currently, PSN friends do not appear in the online menu in-game, so if you want to group with a PSN friend you need to invite or join them through the Game Base > Friends section in the PS5 system menu. If you are then not able to get them to show up in your lobby, you can force the game to put you together by both going inside the Solar Hotel at the same time.

Complete all Crown Jewel races

Completing the secondary tasks related to the races is very helpful for their huge SC bonus, but is not required for this trophy.

Acquire a car of each category

This trophy is awarded for purchasing a car from each category at least once. You will need to raise your reputation level to be able to purchase each category of car, with the final category of car being available at reputation level 50. Once you have purchased one car from each category you will earn this trophy.
The five categories of cars in unlock order are:
- Daily Driver
- Cross Country
- Grand Tour
- Supercar
- Hypercar
This is marked as glitched as due to server issues it is possible for the game to not count you “acquiring” a car when you purchase it. The way this occurs is you will receive an error when attempting to purchase a car, but then when you leave the dealership or restart the game the car will be in your garage and you will have spent the money to buy it, but the game doesn’t recognize you did the specific action of “acquiring” it which is required for this trophy. This seems to occur more frequently if you have been playing the game for some time before buying a car.
Because of this, it is recommended before buying anything from the Supercar or Hypercar category for the first time you restart the game so you are on a fresh session, then you are less likely to receive the error. If you successfully purchase a car without the issue you will be shown a confirmation and then the cutscene of being handed the keys. You will also complete the secondary task you receive to purchase one car from that category each time you unlock a new car category, so you can confirm each purchase has counted if you have these secondary tasks completed.
If you receive the error after purchasing the final car that should trigger the trophy, relaunch the game then try to purchase one of the cheap cars such as the 2CV or Beetle, and the trophy should be awarded after you successfully purchase another car without receiving the error.

Use 50 emotes

To use emotes, press to pull up the radial menu, switch to the emote section, and then select an emote to use it. The emote needs to finish to count toward this trophy, so the full animation finishes and you return to first-person view. Cancelling emotes by using different ones won’t award the trophy.

Take a photo for the first time

Acquire 150 clothing items

You can see how many clothing items you own in the TDU & ME menu under the Social section.

Acquire 50 cars

The cheapest 10 cars you could purchase to reach this total are:
- Citroen 2CV (1967) 20,000 SC – Central District Classic Cars
- Volkswagen Beetle (1956) 22,500 SC – Central District Classic Cars
- Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde (2010) 58,500 SC – Wan Chai district Italian Cars
- Abarth 500 Abarth (2008) 71,500 SC – Wan Chai district Italian Cars
- Nissan 370Z (2011) 160,000 SC – Stanley district Pearls of Asia
- Ford F-150 (2018) 190,000 SC – Victoria Peak district Dirt & Offroad
- Ford Mustang GT (2018) 192,500 SC – Happy Valley district American Cars
- Alpine A110 Legende (2018) 199,000 SC – Causeway Bay district Luxury Cars
- Sientero Reinita (2011) 205,000 SC – Victoria Peak district Dirt & Offroad
- Ford Mustang (1967) 236,500 SC – Central District Classic Cars
Purchasing 5 of each of these cars would cost 5.8 million SC total, but you shouldn’t need to do that as you will acquire other cars while working through the game.
You can see how many cars you own in the TDU & ME menu under the General section.
